The upcoming Hyundai Venue 2022 compact SUV will rival the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
This compact SUV will rival directly Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The Venue made its world premiere on board a cruise in India recently, as well as at the 2012 New York Motor Show last month. It will be positioned under Hyundai's best-selling compact SUV, the Hyundai Credit. So let's see what this new sub-compact SUV has to offer.
Compared to Maruti Suzuki's Vitara Brescia, the new Hyundai Venue resembles a new age crater, but it is smaller. It will sport split-style headlights with the daytime running lights surrounding the lower headlights and a huge chrome grille up front flaunting a floating roof design. Vitara Brezza gets automatic projector headlamps nicely tugged up into the body line. The Hyundai SUV will ride on new dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels, while square-shaped tail lamps at the rear sum up the styling segment. On the other side, the Maruti SUV gets 16-inch wheels cladding over wheel arches and a skid plate at the rear.
On the inside, the Hyundai Venue will sport all-black upholstery with a floating touch screen infotainment system in the middle of the dashboard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The SUV will also boast unique circular AC dials and AC vents with silver accents. And overall, the interior will be premium to score against its rivals. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brazil's interior design has a safe and neutral appeal. It is user-friendly with well-laid-out controls.
The SUV gets black interiors and the cabin doesn't feel claustrophobic. However, the interior quality of the Venue scores higher than the brazen. The new Hyundai Venue will come with Hyundai's Global Blue Link technology, debuting the company's global technology in the Indian market. This state-of-the-art technology has 33 features, out of which ten are specifically developed for the Indian market. The safety features include automatic crash notification, SOS alert, the message button on the IRBM to call for roadside assistance, geofence alert, speed alert, sharing your destination, and panic notification.
Some other salient features of the Venue are engine start, stop button, door lock, unlock, climate control, horn honk, and light. Along with vehicle status, these features are remote-controlled smartphone-enabled, to be precise which will give an up-market experience to the buyers. It will also provide real-time traffic updates and live to track the vehicle as well. The new venue will also feature a sunroof and ventilated seats yet another segment-first feature. On the other hand, the Breather comes with features such as cruise control, touchscreen ice with navigation, automatic headlamps and wipers, projector headlamps and LEDs reversing camera, et cetera.
But there are many features that the Vitara Brezza misses out on when compared to the Venue in the sub-four meter SUV segment. In terms of length, the Hyundai Venue and Maruti Brezza stand neck to neck at 3995. However, the Brescia measures 1790 in width while the Venue is only 1770 broad. The Venue stands short at 1590 m, whereas the Vitara Breza is the tallest in competition at a height of 1640. The wheelbase is common as both the Venue and Vitara Brezza stand at 2500 mm.
Talking about the engine comparison, Hyundai Venue engine specification says it will be offered with three engine options one-liter turbo petrol that develops 118 BHP of power and 172 of torque, a two-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 82 BHP and 115 nm, and a 1.4-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 89 BHP with 220 nm. The Maruti Suzuki veteran Abrasa makes the same power as the Venus diesel motor but falls short by 20 of torque when gets in line. Speaking of transmission duties, the Hyundai Venue will get segment first. Hyundai's in-house seven-speed dual-clutch automatic on the one-liter turbo petrol engine only. The diesel engine will feature a six-speed manual transmission as standard.
Hyundai Venue one two-liter petrol engine will be offered with a five-speed manual gearbox, whereas the Vitar APRESA is offered with a five-speed manual and AMT. Expect the Hyundai Venue price in India to be immensely aggressive due to high localization. Expect the Venues base variant to be a bit close to Brescia's tagging. As of now, it's the Mahindra XUV 300 that seems to be more expensive in the segment, with prices starting from Rs 7.9 lakh and going up to rupees eleven point 99 lakh.
The Vitara Bresa price comes second and ranges from Rs 7.68 lakh to rupees ten point 65 lakh. All prices exhort Delhi. As far as the Hyundai Venue price is concerned, the starting price will fall between this range and the rest you will get to know on May 21 once the prices are revealed.
