The new face of payments. Launching at 11 a.m. Update the CRED app for access

So when you open up Credit for the first time, like most apps these days, it asks for your phone number. Once you register, the app automatically checks for your credit scores. If your score is higher than 750, you can enter the app and enjoy its benefits. Once you've completed the registration process, credits should automatically pick up your credit cards. But that doesn't mean you're ready to use the app yet.

For security reasons, you have to go in and individually verify each card before you can start tracking them and paying monthly bills, and earning rewards in the process. Once the verification is done, we're good to go. Before you enter the credit app, you need to first unlock it using your fingerprint or a passcode. Once you're in the app, you get this card-like interface. Now, frankly, this looks quite nice.

Here you see offers like this and any card bills you might have due. If you have dismissed the card payment reminders like we actually did. Then tapping on the second tab on the bottom bar, takes you to all your cards. Now, from this menu, you can make your payments this way. Credits ensure that you can keep track of all your card payments from one single place, and you never end up missing out on any payments.

And to pay credit gives you three choices either pay the entire amount due or the minimum due, or you can choose to pay any custom amount of your choice. From here, you can make your payment via UPI, net banking, or debit card. And once you pay via the app, you get the equivalent of the payment amount made. You get that back in the form of credit coins. Now, credit coins are how you get rewards with the credit app.

Clicking on the third tab on the bottom bar, lets you check out a lot of offers and coupons. You can dig into the details of every offer by tapping on the Details option. You can claim a reward by tapping Get this and burning your credit coins. Nice. Once you've claimed an offer, the icon to the top right here takes you to my Rewards, where you can find it.

The compass-like icon below it, it helps narrow down rewards by specific localities or by organizing them into categories. And the last icon here, lets you share the link. The offers, they're pretty good. For example this one. It's a Swiggy offer, it gets you 50% off on your order up to Rs1000.

So that's Rs1000 that you could make for every Rs35,000 you pay, that's a credit card bill. So that's money you've spent any which way, you're just paying your bills and you could end up making up to Rs1000. And this is not even the best of what they have. Now, one point to note when I was researching this app, I came across a few rare cases where payments hadn't been reflected on the cards after being made. And to help out in cases like this, credible offers an instant refund option.

You need to set it up first though. But once you do, if in a rare case of a payment failure, you get it back instantly, you can set this up from under your profile. By the way, since you're already on the profile screen, let us take a look around here. You have your usual data, like the time you joined your credit score, credit protection, your credit coins earned, the credit cards, payment history, and all that credit Protect is one we have not seen yet. It is a unique service that sends you WhatsApp and mail alerts for important things like due dates, smart statements, and hidden charge alerts.

Now, banks often keep sneaking in charges and unwanted services and since they are bundled in with our credit card bills, there's a chance we might miss them. You may not really notice what they are charging us and Credit is supposed to help you. Craig is supposed to highlight these hidden charges so we can avoid them, we can kind of work around them and that is one of the big pros of Credit. Another way Credit helps is by sorting through the credit card bill and categorizing the spending into different categories like food, travel, et cetera. Credit calls them smart statements and they can be helpful since you do end up getting a broad overview of how exactly you're spending most of your money.

The rest of the options, they are pretty self-explanatory for the most part. And by the way, you also get a dark and light-themed toggle here. That's pretty sweet. Now returning to the home page again, you can see the control icon on the top right. This is like your dashboard that gives you an overview of all your information right from your collective credit coins to your claim rewards and even your payment history.

Credit also offers gems. You earn ten gems for each friend who joins the app using a referral link. Now, remember, the gems get credited only when your friend makes their first payment. Now, what do gems get used for? Well, you can unlock exclusive rewards with them, like this super gift card.

So that's about it from my end. Now it's your turn to tell me what you guys think about this credit app. If you want to try it out, the Android and iOS download links can be found in the description below. It's free. And if you have a credit card and you regularly use it, credit is definitely a no-brainer.
