A western educated resistance leader was

Kwame Nkrumah, who studied in the United States and England, and became Ghana's first president after leading the country to independence fromBritish colonial rule in 1957.

Nkrumah was a prominent African nationalist and Pan-Africanist, and his ideas on African unity and self-determination influenced many other anti-colonial leaders across the continent.

He was also a strongadvocate for socialism and sought to establish a one-party state in Ghana. During his presidency, Nkrumah implemented a series of ambitious development projects, including the construction of hydroelectric dams, the expansion of transportation infrastructure, and the establishment of free education and healthcare systems.

However, his authoritarian style of governance and economic policies ultimately led to his downfall, and he was overthrown in a military coup in 1966. Despite his shortcomings, Nkrumah remains an important figure in the African independence movement and his legacy continues to inspire resistance leaders today.
