EKU safety security and emergency management

EKU's Safety, Security, and Emergency Management program is designed to prepare students for a career in various fields related to public safety, such as law enforcement, emergency management, fire services, security, and related fields. 

Students in this program will learn about theoretical and practical aspects of safety and security, including risk assessment, crisis management, disaster response, and prevention of accidents and crimes.

The program offers a range of courses that cover topics such as emergency planning, terrorism and counterterrorism, intelligence analysis, cyber security, and homeland security.

 Students will also be exposed to hands-on training through internships, field trips, and simulations. The program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the complex and interdependent nature of safety and security within society. 

Graduates of the program will be well-equipped with the necessary skills to pursue a career in public safety and emergency management at the local, state, and federal levels, or in the private sector as security consultants or risk managers.
