ITL is a registered trademark of Exylos Limited. Before we understand It Operations Management function, let's have a quick look at which all processes are under the service Operation Lifecycle Phase. These are event management, incident management, problem management, and request fulfillment. And the final process is access management.

Service Operation is the only lifecycle phase that has functions along with processes. And service operation has four functions. These are service tests, and technical management. It is operations management and application management. I've covered service. We are going to look at It Operations Management function in detail. So let's get started. This is the overview of Service operation functions, services being standalone. And then we have technical management, application management, and operations management with the different components. Okay? It is Operations Management. It Operations.

Management is made up of two components. It is Operations Control and Facilities Management. Its Operations Control is responsible for much behind-the-scenes stuff such as tape backups, copy, print, job scheduling, and maintaining the It Operations Bridge, sometimes referred to as Network Operations Center or NOC.  And the second component, Facilities Management, is responsible for the management of the physical environment such as data centers, computer rooms, cabling, etc. As it relates to it. In some organizations, many physical components of the It infrastructure are outsourced and Facilities Management may include the management of the outsourcing contracts.

It's Operations Management is a function responsible for the daily operational activities needed to manage the It infrastructure. In some organizations, this is a single centralized department, while in others, some activities and staff are centralized and some are provided by the distributed or specialized department. But the goal of It Operations Management is to help Its infrastructure in achieve the daily operational activities need to meet business requirements. So, as we have seen, Operation Management has two functions that are unique and which are generally formal organizational structures. So Operations Control basically ensures that all the operational activities are carried out, which is generally staffed by shifts of operators and which ensures that the routine operational tasks are carried out.

It Operations Control will also provide centralized monitoring and control activities, usually from an It operations bridge or network operations center. Facilities management refers to the management of the physical It environment, usually data centers, computer rooms, and recovery sites. In some organizations, technical and application management are colocated with Its operations in large data centers. Now, let's look at the objectives of It Operations management. It's Operations Management executes the ongoing activities and procedures required to manage and maintain the It infrastructure so as to deliver and support Its services at agreed levels.

It includes maintenance of the status quo to achieve stability of the organization's day-to-day processes and activities, regular scrutiny, and improvements to achieve improved service at reduced costs while maintaining the stability and swift application of operational skills to diagnose and resolve any operations failure that occurs. So these are the objectives of It Operations Management in order to ensure operations control and facilities management helps It infrastructure to ensure that daily operational activities are not hindered by any interruption.
