Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 in India Features and Specific Review
As we saw with the mix, four Xiaomi is again gone for their black and gold color scheme, which is what they generally use for their premium products. Opening it up, we are greeted by the MePad Five Pro removing that protective plastic.
We then have a cardboard box that contains a USB type C to headphone jack adapter along with a quick start guide. That's pretty much it. Not even a USB cable in the box. Definitely no charger. That's it.
In China, at least the charger is being provided, but it's just packaged separately. So this 67-watt charger is something that anybody who's buying a Mi Five Pro in China gets. But the fact that they are packaging it separately makes me worry because they might just end up selling it in some markets without the charger. Or maybe they're just getting us used to the fact that they're going to be removing charges like they did with the phones the first time around. What is available separately, though, is this smart case for the Mi Pat Five lineup.
It's pretty much what we've seen with Apple, but here the back is also covered. It attaches magnetically and lets you prop the tablet up or down. They've not reinvented the wheel or anything, but for an asking price of 99 yuan, it actually seems nice. Of course, other optional accessories include a Stylus and a keyboard, which are priced at 349 and 399 RMB respectively. Now, if you want to pick up the iPad Five Pro or the Five Pro 5G or any of the accessories that Xiaomi has on offer, 28 Mobile.com is a good place to get them.
From 28 Mobile apps, they are your best option to import any phone or tablet that might not be available in your market. So I'll leave a link to 28 Mobile in the description below. Please check that out if you haven't yet. Okay. Now returning back to the iPad five pro you got to love this build.
It's pretty much an Apple iPad pro. Yes, we've got a very similar eleven-inch display here. Similar pixel density, similar height width, marginally higher thickness. It's also a tad bit heavier since it's got a higher capacity 8600 milliamp-hour battery inside. But if you are somebody who likes the iPad Pro and wants an Android version of it, then this one seems to deliver the build quality.
It appears to be very good. We've got aluminum to the sides and the back. A beautiful, beautiful high-resolution display up front now. Anyways, let's just do a quick roundup of the placements. There's a proprietary connector to the left.
Next, we have the volume keys, a couple of microphones and a magnetic holder for the Stylus add-on to the right power key. Another mic and a couple of speakers are present. Up top, there are two more speakers to the bottom, along with the primary microphone and USB type C port. Now, this is the first thing I tested out, because speakers if they were a gimmick, would pretty much kill any tablet, because tablets usually end up being media consumption devices, making speakers all the more important than on, say, a smartphone. And Xiaomi has indeed delivered here the sound output.
It's rich, it's loud. This is something Samsung usually does amazingly well on the recent tablets at least. Now, glad to see Xiaomi continue that and not cut a corner. One area where Xiaomi doesn't ape Samsung is with the display. Just like the iPad pros.
We have an LCD panel here and I'd love to see AMOLED, but sadly that's not the case. Even Samsung cut out AMOLED for their tables. Seven and that makes me really want to buy a Lenovo Pad Pro Eleven. But that's a story for another day. For now, this happens to be one of the best.
Non-AMOLED panels have come across excellent viewing angles. It's bright with support for both HDR Ten and Dolby Vision. It's sharp given the 2.5K resolution, meaning this one hits 275 pixels per inch, so the pixel density is marginally more than even what you'd find on an iPad Pro. Now, similar to the iPad Pro, we've got a 120 Hz refresh rate. Of course, gaming is going to be amazing given we've got a Snapdragon 870 pushing everything inside.
It's currently the highest bet you can find on a tablet. On the Android side of things, at least until Samsung comes out of their table site series, we get either six or eight gigs of DDR, five Ram to go, along with 128 or two to six gigs of UFS 3.1 storage, which is all the more important due to the lack of memory expansion. With the games I tried running, the performance felt smooth and yes, I really do suck that much at PUBG the Meatball Five Pro, it jumps apart, and feels like a hell of a performer. We get gay mode support, as we've seen on other Xiaomi phones. This is basically me by 12.5, built on top of Android Eleven.
Now, generally, the software has been the undoing of Android tablets. High-quality tablet apps are found lacking on Android, and there's not really much Xiaomi can do about it. But for what it's worth, the performance, the user experience itself, is really smooth and fluid. Given the power underneath, I'm not happy with just Android gaming. I really want to try emulation on this Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation Two, and I think it should do well.
I have a lot more to say in my full review. Now, returning back to the placements for a quick second, this power key also has a fingerprint scanner built into it, and it felt pretty responsive. The selfie camera also has support for facial recognition, which, as we've seen on other music devices, is rapid, fast this year is an eight-megapixel selfie camera, by the way, and the performance felt satisfactory. I mean, for a tablet, your main users are going to be a quick skype or zoom call, and for that, this camera should do. Okay, now to the back, we have a dual camera set up.
The primary is a 13-megapixel shooter with an f-two lens. That's paired with a five-megapixel depth sensor, which is there to hey, make up the numbers. The primary sensor seems to be decent. Nothing too impressive. Not that you'd expect a super impressive camera on a tablet, but if you are enthusiastic about cameras on tablets, then Show Me does offer a 50-megapixel shooter on the 5G variant, but that's supposed to be a lot better, or at least that's Xiaomi's claim on the camera.
Now, the camera software is pretty much the middle me UI. Nothing to write home about. So that's basically the Xiaomi mi pad five pro. I'm going to continue testing this one out. I'm going to continue spending more time with it.
And as I mentioned already in this video, I will have a lot more to say in my full review. In the meantime, if you guys want me to test something in particular, if you have any particular questions for me, let me know in the comments below. affordable now. A few hundred yuan more will get you double the storage.
And for that price, the meat at Five Pro seems to be killer. It's amongst the best value products we've come across in recent times. Xiaomi seems to have made an amazing comeback to tablets after a long, long time. So I guess that's it for now. For real this time.
